You spend a lot of money on your patio furniture, so naturally you want them to look good for years to come. You would think that patio furniture could withstand the elements since its made for outdoor use, but you’d be surprised to know that many pieces start to fade and rust just after a few years. But don’t worry since there is a way to extend the use of your patio furniture!
If you want to keep your patio furniture safe from the elements and allow it to look its best for many years to come it would be smart to protect it with a patio cover. However, not all patio furniture covers are created equal and some are made better than others. So if you’re considering patio furniture covers, here are some factors to consider so that you buy one with the most protection!
Patio cover secured?
If you live in a region that experiences crazy winds and the like, you’ll need patio furniture covers that will stay secure no matter what the weather outside is. You want to make sure that the patio covers you purchase can be easily secured so that they aren’t blown away in harsh weather. Look for patio furniture covers that feature reinforced ties and drawstrings so that your outdoor sofa covers will stay put.
Is your cover waterproof?
Chances are, you’re looking for patio furniture covers to protect from water when it rains or from sprinklers, so you’ll want to make sure that whatever kind you buy can repel water adequately. Looking for an outer shell or layer that’s waterproof is your best bet!
Is the cover UV resisting and able to protect against the sun?
Besides the weather, the biggest thing you have to worry about with your patio furniture is fading from the sun. Your new patio furniture can look old and worn out in just a year because of the sun’s harmful UV rays fading the covers. Don’t let this happen by investing in quality patio furniture sun protection!
Is the cover breathable?
To avoid mold and mildew, you’ll want to purchase patio furniture covers that are vented so that fresh air can get in. Look for sun protective covers for patio furniture that feature mesh vents with protective flaps to help circulate air into the pieces when you have them covered.
Is this patio cover durable and long lasting?
You don’t want to buy cheap outdoor sofa covers that’ll only last a few months. Look for covers feature double-stitched seams so that they won’t rip and will last as long as your patio furniture.
Comments
Do you do covers for odd sizes? I am traveling now but can measure when I get home for the dimensions. Ultraviolet rays are a concern since we live in Hawaii..
Mahalo..
Hi:
I love your cover! It’s strong and the buckles and drawstring make securing the cover ‘a snap.’
Question: my cover is used to protect a patio table/chair set made of metal and tile in dusty Jerusalem, on the 10th floor. I have no access to a garden hose.
Regarding cleaning: Other than simple brushing and wet rag cleaning, can I put the cover in a washing machine?
Thank you for this excellent product.
Sincerely
O Davis
